The deadline for objections to Wiltshire Council is now 13th October and people can object by writing to: It is not necessary to write a long eloquent letter quoting sections of the Town and Country Planning Act. The Plans and Objections at a Glance

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

We have collated the main guts of the plans so that you can see at a glance what it planned.

Plans include:

Ÿ 195 residential units shoehorned into part of the existing golf course.

Ÿ The Golf Course to go and we get a pitch and putt instead.

Ÿ Access roads via Greenland View and Mythern Meadow.

Ÿ Implications to other roads in the vicinity with reference to road widening.

Ÿ Reduction of current pavements / grass verges.

The effect of this development (within legal planning parameters) is:

Ÿ This land is safeguarded to meet the longer term needs of BOA. Previous application was rejected as sufficient housing provision is already in place to meet BOA’s needs under current local plan.

Ÿ Access tothe new site is inadequate. We are concerned about impact on adjacent roads, volume of traffic and highway safety for families. Air quality in the area will be affected.

Ÿ We are deeply concerned in relation to contamination - recent report highlights levels of 6 high risk contaminates which pose a possibility of significant harm to human health if disturbed.

Ÿ Ecological impact - the area supports and sustains a wide variety of wildlife including Otters which are a protected species. The open space that remains will be a fraction of what is currently there.

Ÿ Loss of a valuable water ‘soak up’ area to avoid increased risk of flooding further down the River Avon.

Additional demands on local services - GP’s, schools and employment.

New Planning Application to build on Golf Course!

Friday, September 18th, 2009

For those who are still unaware, the owners of the BoA golf course have recently made a second outline planning application for the site. Again, it’s a 200 house scheme with little benefit for any other resident in the town!

The Town Council is due to sit regarding this matter on 22 Sept at St Margrets Hall.
Most of the documents and plans relating the planning application are on this link.

http://planning.westwiltshire.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_searchresults.aspx

It’s quite tricky to find through the council website. The application no: W/09/02628/OUT is being considered by Sim Manley at Wiltshire Council. Written comments can be submitted to Sim up ’til 30th Sept.

The website allows comment on applications, we urge everyone to do so!

The resubmitted plans are for 195 houses on the golf course, with access via St Lawrence Rd and St. Aldhelm’s Rd/Mythern Meadow.

The Town Council will consider the application in a public meeting at St Margarets Hall, 19:00 22nd September. Please attend and let your opinion be heard!

Between now and the 22nd, we need to inform as many residents as possible about this plan, please spread the word.

Objections should be made in writing by 30th September to:
Sim Manley, Planning Consultant, Wiltshire Council, Development Control West, Bradley Road, Trowbridge, Wilts BA14 0RD

Mayor Isabel Martindale, BoA Town Council, St Margarets Hall, Bradford on Avon BA15 1DE

Andrew Murrison MP, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
